Welcome to the Council of Exceptional Children (CEC) at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Chapter # 287. As a member of the CEC@utsa.edu you will get the chance to be part of an organization that is going to be ADVOCATING for children with exceptionalities. Whether you are in the Special Education Program, Regular Education Program, Sociology, Psychology, or any other program that focuses on children...you WILL feel the effects of these changes.  You will get a chance as a member to nominate, vote and elect the people that will "influence local, state, provincial, and federal regislation. CEC also monitors and makes recommendations for program regulations and funding. In addition, CEC maintains a network among its units for influencing policy."
