Application Procedures for MAECIT

A.   Application to Graduate School

Candidates for MAECIT must apply and be accepted to Graduate School at UTSA by  October 15 (this is a special application deadline for MAECIT students only).  Applications to graduate school take up to six weeks for review and processing.  Admission to the Graduate Program is required for consideration for MAECIT but does not ensure acceptance into the program.  Please indicate on the application for graduate school that you will be applying to the MAECIT program to expedite processing of your application.

B.  Application to the Program

      Application to the MAECIT program requires the following:

• Copy of the letter from UTSA stating clear, unconditional acceptance to graduate school.
• Evidence of successful completion of all areas of the TASP or THEA.
• Completion of an application form submitted to the MAECIT Coordinator. No candidate portfolio will be considered without the inclusion of this application form.
• Three letters of recommendation are required from professionals who can attest to your potential to be successful as a classroom teacher. Letters from family members or friends will not be considered as references.
• Copies of transcripts from all colleges or universities attended. This includes all UTSA transcripts and/or previous graduate programs attended.
• A current resume.

Submit application materials as a complete package by mail (letter of acceptance to graduate school, evidence of TASP, application form, 3 reference letters, transcripts, resume) by October 15 to:
