If
you are planning to be a classroom teacher, we offer different
certification options under the Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary
Studies (IDS) including Early Childhood- 4th Grade, 4th-8th
Grade Math and Science, and 4th-8th Grade Reading, Language Arts,
and Social Studies.
We
also offer the certification coursework for secondary content
areas.
IDS Major without Certification
For
individuals not considering teacher certification, the IDS degree
does have a non-certification route. The IDS degree-only route
is intended for individuals preparing for education-related
careers.
Master of Arts in Education Options
Our
Master of Arts degree in Education offers concentrations in
Early Childhood and Elementary, Curriculum and Instruction,
Instructional Technology, Literacy Education, and Special Education.
Faculty
As
teacher educators, we are actively engaged in research, teaching
and service. Our faculty has numerous years of EC-16 teaching
experience. Several of our faculty have been recognized as outstanding
teachers, researchers, and leaders in the educational community.
Our faculty publishes research in international, national, and
state journals in the areas of early childhood, literacy, special
education, middle-level education, curriculum and instruction,
teacher education, science education, multicultural education
and other education related issues.
